Look, we all know there are loads of things flashier and more exciting to spend your hard-earned cash on than a bike helmet. But why settle for run-of-the-mill when you could be buying ‘smarter’?
Smart bike helmets, many of which come with Bluetooth configuration, deliver everything you ever wanted to place on your bonce while riding – any everything you never even knew you needed before now.
Here, we’re doing a LIVALL BH60SE bike helmet review, checking out all of its mouth-watering features and asking: is this the best smart helmet under £100?

LIVALL BH60SE Smart Helmet
We’ll kick off our LIVALL BH60SE review with a brief summary of exactly what it is and where you can get it.
Available for a reasonable £99.99 ($130.44), it comes with an 18-month warranty, weighs a mere 280g, and is available in one size of 55 – 61cm.
You charge this smart helmet via micro USB cable, and its maximum Bluetooth connectivity distance is 10m.
Now, onto the interesting stuff. This classy helmet comes with ‘smart lighting’ and stereo speakers both courtesy of its Bluetooth function – more on both of those shortly.
If that wasn’t enough, it also possesses a -39dB windproof hands-free microphone enabling you to listen to music, answer phone calls, and hear GPS sat-nav directions easily.
And its SOS alert system will inform your designated ’emergency contact’ of your exact GPS location in the event of an accident, offering you a great deal of peace of mind when you most need it.
BH60SE Bluetooth Helmet Speakers
This is one of the features we just have to talk about in our LIVALL BH60 review. As someone who, for better or worse, almost always listens to music with both earphones in while cycling, this is a big selling point for me.
The BH60SE comes fitted with two 0.5W built-in Bluetooth stereo speakers, which connect up easily enough like you usually would with wireless headphones, for instance. Plus, its handlebar remote control and aforementioned hands-free microphone make it oh so easy to be in charge of the tunes you’re playing.
Obviously, though, this feature may be as much of a turn-on for cyclists like myself as it is a turn-off for those who find listening to music while riding an unnecessary extra danger, and who like to be able to hear their surroundings all the while.
And some reviewers have also suggested the sound quality of the speakers is lacking somewhat, so use with caution, I would say.
Smart Helmet with Built-In Lights
Probably the less divisive of the helmet’s two main selling points, it also comes with concealed LED smart lights and indicator turn signals. No more wearing fluorescent jackets at night or sticking out your left or right arm!
If you are a little more conscious about safety than the average cyclist, this will surely win you over by just how efficient and easy it is to use.
Simply use the handlebar controls to indicate, and the bike will light up on the either the left or right-hand side.
The Best Smart Bike Helmet under £100?
At £99.99, it might only be in the running for this title by a one-pence margin, but the LIVALL BH60SE is certainly among the best in this price range.
Is it the outright best? Well, in a recent comparison with another LIVALL model, the MT1, we felt the MT1 just shaded it – but with each featuring many of the same features, there’s not much between them.
But if you want to make wearing a helmet interesting again without compromising your safety or breaking the bank, the BH60SE is certainly a top recommendation of ours.
